Jobs, jobs, jobs

In these uncertain economic times, the one sure thing that government needs to be doing is promoting the expansion of jobs in the state of Minnesota. State government can incentivize job creation by working to address the high cost of healthcare that places a heavy burden on small businesses; by increasing the state’s investment in research and development at our institutions of higher education; and by directing our limited state resources toward developing alternative energy and green technologies.

My plan is to:
- create construction jobs by expanding the state’s bonding limits to rebuild our aging transportation infrastructure
- create tax incentives for people and companies that invest in Minnesota’s small businesses
- give tax incentives for capital equipment purchases
- offer tax incentives to encourage our state’s residents to buy food from local farmers

We need to always be asking the question “What are we (the people) getting out of our government “investments?” Is government incentivizing results that improve the quality of life for individuals and society as a whole?
